Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way,
ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.
– Deepak Chopra
You’re in survival mode.
Just trying to make it through, but it’s not enough. If you knew how to do more, be more, you wouldn’t be right here, right now!
But here we are. Now what?
You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.
You only have to know that you want and need something different. You want to make changes and live a different life.
Because you are looking for rebirth and renewal, you are here because you know you can’t do it alone.
It’s so hard asking for help, but it shouldn’t be. We always ask for help: teachers, daycare providers, nurses and doctors, electricians and plumbers, restaurants and entertainers, etc.
Why is our mental health any different? I would argue that mental health is even more critical. Be brave. Just show up!
Turn your demons into art, your shadow into your friend, your fears into fuel,
your mistakes into teachers, and your weaknesses into reasons to keep fighting.

THIS is the essence of therapy.
Learn why your past is so hard to shake. Come to love, honor, and forgive your previous self and everything you have been through.
Look in the mirror with compassion. Therapy unites your past and present for a better future.
About Me
Why did I choose to be a therapist?
A dysfunctional family of origin placed me on this path. I have wanted to be a therapist from very early on in life. I strove to rise from my experiences, not letting them define me or my goals because I wanted so much more. Assisting others is my life’s dedication.
The phoenix symbolizes my path. I’ve found myself ensconced in flames on multiple occasions. Each time, after reflection, I found that I needed that growth opportunity, as I was on a path I no longer had to travel.
Without intervention, I would have remained on that path. The phoenix in me sees the phoenix in you! I see you! You’re not in this alone!
What makes you uniquely qualified to work with me?
First and foremost, I am a REAL human being, and I keep it real in therapy. I’m going to be straight with you.
Although I’m disgustingly qualified, I won’t be putting on airs to impress you with what I know. It’s more important that YOU become impressed with yourself and your transformation, and you will gain the skills to do that. Don’t worry. You will not be alone on this journey. I will accompany you, providing support and lifting you when you falter.
You can and will get to the other side.
I also practice what I preach. I’m not operating from a theoretical perspective. I AM a phoenix. I’ve been there. I will teach you skills for REAL life stabilization and transformation. I understand the difficulty and the discomfort of being vulnerable, of putting yourself out there. I’m doing it, too!
I’ve been doing this for a long time.
I graduated from Hollins College, in Roanoke, VA, in 1994 with Bachelor’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Biology. In 2007, I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Seattle while working toward my doctorate.
Although I completed my coursework and first board, my second board was interrupted and failed. This failure was my first BIG Phoenix moment. There are others. While I don’t have doctorate initials after my name, I am more than a master’s level therapist! I bring all of that education, training, and experience with me.
As a lifelong learner, I continually explore ways to improve my game and assist you with your transformation. I’m trauma certified, EMDR trained, and accruing even more skill sets.
My life outside of therapy heals me.
I love spending time with my friends and family and making and eating good food. I recently moved from Seattle to Las Vegas, chasing the sun.
I’m a Zumba addict! So much so that I became a Zumba instructor! I just recently got my first official class here! I’m so excited to be teaching regularly.
When not on the dance floor or conducting therapy sessions, you’ll find me connecting with my new community here in Vegas!
